Henry W. Perkins, 1923-2003, Green Ridge

Henry William Perkins, 80, of Green Ridge, died Sunday, Dec. 21, 2003, at his home.

He was born Dec. 10, 1923, in Pleasant Green, a son of George E. and Inez Grace Bilderback Perkins. On Feb. 21, 1948 in St. Joseph, he was married to Lorene I. Munson, who had died earlier.

Mr. Perkins was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of Sacred Heart Church.

Surviving are a son, Michael Allan Perkins, of Tucson, Ariz.; a daughter, Elizabeth Gassen, of St. Joseph; two brothers, George Martin Perkins, of Sedalia, and Francis J. Perkins, of Phoenix; two sisters, Mary E. Pauley, of Fulton, and Joan Smith, of Sedalia; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, at St. Joseph Cemetery in Pilot Grove with the Rev. Tom Albers officiating. Military rites will be conducted by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2591. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Friday at McLaughlin Funeral Chapel, where the rosary will be recited at 5 p.m. with vistation to follow.
